Gaston man found dead in home: Circumstances suspicious

(WACH) – A man was found dead inside a home in Gaston Monday night.

Investigators with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, Gaston Police Department and Lexington County Coroner’s Office are investigating the death of a man who was found deceased around 10pm on Monday inside a home at 107 Anderson Drive in Gaston.

Lexington County Sheriff Bryan “Jay” Koon said it appeared that the man had been deceased inside the home for at least several days. It appears that the man died under suspicious circumstances. The cause and manner of the man’s death as well as the circumstances of the man’s death remain under investigation, pending preliminary results of an autopsy that is scheduled to be performed Wednesday.

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher ordered an autopsy to be performed on the man’s body in order to positively identify the man and help her office notify the man’s relatives about his death. Preliminary results of the autopsy also should help investigators determine the cause and manner of the man’s death.

Deputies went to the Anderson Drive home on Monday night in response to a call to check on the well-being of the man, Koon said. Investigators actively are pursuing leads concerning the identity of the person or persons who might be involved in the man’s death.
