Lexington Police Refurbish Playground

(WLTX) — The special needs playground at Lexington’s Virginia Hylton Park got a much-needed facelift on Tuesday.

Officers with the Town of Lexington Police Department’s special operations division and patrol division, along with members of the Volunteers In Police Services worked with employees of Home Depot of Lexington to give the playground an update.

“We had a patrol officer come to us and she said, ‘You know that park sure is beautiful out there, but we could do some upgrading,’ and we actually got talking about it and thinking about it, so we said let’s see if we can make that happen,” said Lt. Matt Davis.

Davis is over the special operations division for the Town of Lexington Police Department, he says the park was built in 1998.
