One man is facing multiple felony DUI charges following a four-vehicle collision in Lexington County that left one motorist dead Saturday evening.
Alvin Thomas, 35, is facing four counts of felony DUI and one count of transportation of alcohol in a motor vehicle with a broken seal after he hit two motorcyclists who were stopped in traffic along US-321 in Gaston.
S.C. Highway Patrol Trooper Hannah Wimberly said Thomas was traveling southbound on US-321 at 6:30 p.m. when he struck the two motorcyclists. The motorcyclists then hit another truck ahead of them. One of the motorcyclists was pronounced dead following the collision.
The Lexington County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the individual after next of kin is notified.
Thomas was transported to the Lexington County Detention Center where he will be held while awaiting a bond hearing.
